Los Angeles Lakers great Kobe Bryant admitted to having an extra-marital affair during his NBA playing days. He then attempted to earn back his wife’s trust by purchasing a ring valued at $4 million.
During an interview with ESPN’s Jemele Hill (the recently demoted anchor who referred to President Trump as a ‘white supremacist’) on a program titled, “Dear Black Athlete,” Bryant said he would’ve kneeled for the national anthem if he was still playing.
From Fox News:
Now-retired NBA legend Kobe Bryant said Sunday that if he was still playing basketball he would have followed in Colin Kaepernick’s footsteps and take a knee during the national anthem.
“Yeah, I would have participated in it, for sure,” Bryant said. “I’m sure I would have gotten some flak for it. That’s fine. I think that Colin’s message was a very simple one. It was police brutality needs to stop. We need to take a look at that.”
“From my experience in the locker room, it doesn’t seem like any of the players that I played with certainly would have had an issue with that,” he said. “I think we understand this is a free country. I think we have the right to peaceful protest.”

Sporting News has more:
Bryant, who openly criticized President Donald Trump after his “sons of bitches” comments in September about protesting NFL players, thinks Kaepernick’s movement has a place in the NBA.
“From my experience in the locker room, it doesn’t seem like any of the players that I played with certainly would have had an issue with that,” Bryant told The Undefeated. “I think we understand this is a free country. I think we have the right to peaceful protest.
“And by the way, from my point of view, that’s what the flag represents as well. The ability to speak. The ability to voice your opinion. And everybody is entitled to that. So everybody getting up in arms about it, they’re certainly in their right to do that, as we’re certainly in our right to protest — peacefully at that.”
Great athlete. Political novice. Seems as if the two go hand-in-hand.
What a shame.
Like all other multi-millionaire celebrities, Kobe doesn’t realize how good he has it in America. Therefore, he attempts to race-bait and disrespect the president.
