According to anti-Trump RINO Sen. Jeff Flake (AZ), the president will face a challenger from his own party in 2020.
From The Hill:
Flake, an outspoken critic of Trump who is not running for reelection to the Senate, told CNN’s David Axelrod in an interview that while he is not “planning” to run as an independent, he “wouldn’t swear it off.”
“I do think the president will have a challenge from the Republican Party, I think there should be,” Flake said. “I also think that there will be an independent challenge, particularly if the Democrats insist on putting somebody up from the far left of the party.”
In a recent interview, not only did Flake jab at President Trump (again), but he’s also not ruling out a run for Oval Office against 45 in 2020.
From Daily Wire:
FLAKE: That’s not in my plans, but I do wonder, I do worry that in the future we’ll be faced with a President Trump running for re-election on one side, drilling down hard on a diminishing base, and on the other side, you might have, you know, someone like Bernie Sanders [or] Elizabeth Warren on the far left [of] the Democratic Party. That leaves a huge swath of voters in the middle that [are] maybe looking for something else.
KARL: But you are open to running for president in 2020?
FLAKE: I don’t rule anything out, but it’s not in my plans.
KARL: It’s coming up, by the way.
FLAKE: It is.
It’s a good thing Flake is retiring at the end of this term. He will not be missed.
Should Flake run for president, he’d be crushed bigly!
