Democrat Running for Congress Indicted in $800,000 Fraud & Theft Case [Details]

Democrats and corruption are synonymous. There are no two ways around it.

Check out what’s happening to a Congressional candidate in Virginia…

From Fox News:

A Democrat running for a U.S. House seat in Virginia has been indicted on charges of fraud, embezzlement and theft in connection with events that allegedly occurred in 2012.

Shaun Brown, 58, appeared in a Norfolk courtroom last week and denied any wrongdoing, the Daily Press of Newport News, Va., reported. She said she intends to fight the charges and be exonerated, the report said.

Brown is next scheduled to appear in court Jan. 12 and will plead not guilty, her attorney, James Ellenson, told the Daily Press.

More from Daily Press:

The complaint also alleges that Brown directed employees to falsify “meal count sheets” documenting the number of meals served and that she and others “over-overed milk” supplies to make it appear JOBS was serving more underprivileged children it actually was.

She and her attorney, James Ellenson, said the charges are surprising and bittersweet.

“This was a program about feeding the children. We were able to meet that requirement. That is the sweet part,” she said. “The bitter part is knowing the irregularities. I want the irregularities corrected. I want to see the program improve.”

Ellenson said the information in the indictment was addressed in government audits conducted by the Virginia Department of Health in 2012 and 2013. Because JOBS is a sponsor of the federal SFSP program, state audits are required each year.

Fraud, embezzlement, AND theft?

The trifecta!

Good golly. How does the Democrat Party still receive a single vote of confidence?
