Four Democrats have already announced they’ll be boycotting President Trump’s January 30 State of the Union address.
They’ll be joined by a fifth liberal, Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal of Washington, who says she’ll be focused on opposing 45’s agenda.
From The Hill:
Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) on Monday announced she plans to boycott President Trump‘s State of the Union address to Congress at the end of the month, joining a handful of other Democratic lawmakers who are skipping the annual event.
“I’m here on Martin Luther King Jr. Day to say I will not be going to the State of the Union,” Jayapal said in a video posted on social media.
“I think it is absolutely unacceptable to see the racism and the hatred coming out the White House in a way in which this president is fueling the flames of divisiveness across our country,” she added.
ANNOUNCEMENT: With all the racism coming from the White House, I will NOT be attending @realDonaldTrump's State of the Union.
Instead, we'll focus on the State of OUR Union, our opposition to his agenda, and we will lift up a progressive and inclusive vision of our country. pic.twitter.com/dcAWMIkZZV

Seattle Pi has more:
It’s not the first time Jayapal has avoided Trump’s company. She stayed away from last year’s inauguration, choosing instead to hold a Seattle office roundtable with young undocumented immigrants, the so-called “Dreamers” whose status in America is now threatened.
Jayapal cited Trump’s remarks to a meeting with members of Congress last week, in which he described African nations as “shithole countries,” said he did not want immigrants from Haiti, and suggested that people from Norway be welcomed.
Will Jayapal be missed? Obviously not.
It’s the disrespect that’s the issue here.
These five Dems (with more to follow – undoubtedly) are too far gone.
