Not only did the 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign utilize Fusion GPS’s services to slam Donald Trump, but Barack Obama’s 2012 campaign did the same against Republican candidate Mitt Romney.
Former president Barack Obama’s official campaign organization has directed nearly a million dollars to the same law firm that funneled money to Fusion GPS, the firm behind the infamous Steele dossier. Since April of 2016, Obama For America (OFA) has paid over $972,000 to Perkins Coie, records filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) show.
From Daily Caller:
The Barack Obama presidential campaign hired Fusion GPS in 2012 to dig up dirt on Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, according to a book released on Tuesday.
The Obama campaign hid its payments to Fusion GPS through its law firm, Perkins Coie. The arrangement is similar to the one that the Clinton campaign and Democratic National Committee used to pay Fusion for its investigation of then-candidate Donald Trump in 2016.
“In 2012, Fusion GPS was hired to do opposition research on Mitt Romney for Barack Obama’s reelection campaign,” reads “Russian Roulette: The Inside Story of Putin’s War on America and Donald Trump’s Election.”
Newsmax has more:
Most of the payments were labeled as “legal services.”
What Perkins Coie actually paid Fusion GPS for its work on Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, is not known.
During the 2016 cycle, Perkins Coie received over $12 million from the Clinton campaign and DNC, The Daily Caller reports.
The Democrat Party is, and always has been, corrupt.
This is a shame.
The MSM won’t even touch it.
