President Trump has shown the nation multiple times over he’s a far stronger leader than Barack Obama.
Now, 45 claims he would’ve run into Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School during the shooting even if he didn’t have a weapon.
From The Hill:
President Trump on Monday claimed he would have run into a Florida high school to prevent a gunman from carrying out this month’s mass shooting.
“I really believe I’d run in there even if I didn’t have a weapon,” Trump told a gathering of governors at the White House.
USA Today has more:
Throughout the day, White House officials and governors caucused on a number of items in which they can work together.
In addition to gun control, topics included health care, agriculture policy, workforce development, and infrastructure.
Trump, who has proposed expanded background checks and raising the age for purchase of semi-automatic weapons to 21, is meeting with a variety of people on the gun issue. He told governors that over the weekend he had lunch with two prominent National Rifle Association officials, Wayne LaPierre and Chris Cox.
Pretty bold statement by the president.
Then again, is there reason to doubt him?
