Once again, a liberal judge has made a ruling that goes against President Donald Trump.
This time, a Bill Clinton-appointee says Trump cannot block people on his Twitter account.
From The Hill:
A federal district court judge on Wednesday ruled that President Trump can’t block people from viewing his Twitter feed over their political views.
Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald, of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, said President Trump’s Twitter account is a public forum and blocking people who reply to his tweets with differing opinions constitutes viewpoint discrimination, which violates the First Amendment.
Buchwald, who was appointed by former President Clinton, rejected Trump’s argument that the First Amendment does not apply in this case and that the president’s personal First Amendment interests supersede those of the plaintiffs.
More from Fox News:
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News.
In July 2017, Trump was sued by the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University in New York, along with seven individual Twitter users.
At the time, former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer noted in June 2017 that Trump’s tweets are official statements and the White House often sends out official statements everytime the President tweets.
The problem here is that Trump tweets from his private Twitter account, not the official White House account.
He’s simply expressing his opinion on various matters, but the left doesn’t like that.
This is bonkers.
